Growing up I always wondered how my cousin managed to attract attention when he spoke. As I grew older I saw what he was doing. And then I just could not stand the way he expressed. Do you know good communication is a art.
Over the years communication has changed its nature. For many years homing pigeons were used to send messages. Many history books talk about different countries , where animals were the best mode of communication. However current generation is all about instant messages & video chats, snap chat, Instagram, FB etc, it's still your ability to attract like minded people. It does take your time & energy to create content
In today's world it is not just about conveying your message, it's also about knowing how effective you are. More often than we think we always listen with the intent to respond back. Even before the other person completes the statement we have already made up our mind about certain things. We certainly fall in the trap by judging. I have caught myself doing this many times. Let's say, I pay you Million dollars to jump off the fight. What is your reaction? Or would you consider few parameters before you conclude. You know there is a difference between impulsive reaction & educated response.
Today it's not just sending & receiving messages, we need to be effective in a communication.There are few parameters that might help achieve that.
- Listen more than you speak.
- Let the other person complete the sentence, don't be in a hurry to answer.
- Eliminate the details & keep your message brief.
- Be present in the moment, then you don't have to worry about paying attention.
In a real world we are all surrounded by different people & many play a big role in our life. Developing a better communication will lead you to greater opportunities. I am a work in progress myself. But by just be able to communicate well ,we can relate to many people around us.
Know the power of Communication. Like we all heard, Good relationship starts with good communication.
