Who is here to stay..... Social Media!?

Not too long ago we witnessed an amusing,  yet an interesting election. What is more interesting is to see as to how social media has changed and diversified itself.

Social media did play a major role in 2016 Presidential election, perhaps because every controversial news was a cover story. Social media had become a great  platform for both, candidates and supporters. It is a powerful weapon which can be used to make or break nations.

Twitter, Google  and Face Book turned into a war zone during election campaign. What was not said was tweeted, retweeted  and posted. 200 Million US citizens using Face Book were bombarded with Ad Campaigns.

Today it is not about who is using social media, but how efficiently they are using it. Google  provided live Poll numbers on their home page. How easier can it get?

Billions of dollars were spent on campaign, promotion and publicity making Social media a bigger platform to spread the news. Every Presidential debate lead to millions of hits on Google, YouTube, Twitter and other Social media and News websites. People expressed their opinions freely on the walls which were visible live every day. Face Book wall posts on Election debates were longer than the Great Wall of China.

With Instant updates, quick sharing and constant notifications, we are on top of every news and information.Social media has taken a different format and has certainly won the election and is here to stay.
